Nolt Electric opened its doors in 1978 at 18 New Haven Street in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Founder Jack Nolt made it his mission to serve the local community’s electrical needs. After 10 years the business needed more space for its warehouse and office. In 1988 Nolt Electric moved to its present location at 1006 Flory Road in Mount Joy. Today Nolt Electric stands ready for new challenges with a new generation at the helm. In 2005 Leonard Nolt and Duane Heisey took over management of Nolt Electric, keeping a nearly 30 year tradition in the family. While the location and management has changed over the years, Nolt Electric continues to enjoy relationships with local contractors and homeowners.
Leonard Nolt, son of founder Jack Nolt, grew up in Mount Joy and is a Donegal High School Graduate. After high school he attended Pennsylvania College of Technology where he earned an associates degree in Architectural Technology. He continued his education by working in an architectural firm. Len’s career with Nolt Electric began in high school, working summers for the family business. He moved to a full time position in 2001. Some of the more notable jobs he has worked on are a multi-million dollar residence in Mount Joy, a six-bay fire house with backup generator, and renovations to a 200 year old church with an elevator.
Duane Heisey is a nephew of founder Jack Nolt and a Lancaster County native. A graduate of Donegal High School and Messiah College, he holds a bachelors degree in Community Recreation. While he started his construction career in masonry, in 1992 he began his career with Nolt Electric. Duane has earned his General Generator Installation Certificate and NACEP (solar electric) Certificate. Over the years he has worked on everything from residential additions and renovations to installations at manufacturing and production facilities.
